Sunflower Meal

Sunflower meal is the by-product of the extraction of oil from sunflower seeds. In terms of production, it is the 4th most important oil meal after soy bean meal, rapeseed meal and cotton seed meal.

Sunflower meal  is mostly used for beef, swine and poultry feeding. Sunflower meal is higher in fibre, has a lower energy value and is lower in lysine but higher in methionine than soy bean meal.

Regardless of the method of sunflower meal manufacture, the meal can serve as the sole source of supplemental protein in diets also for beef or dairy cattle.
